Called the forest service today ๐ฒ to confirm that camping ๐ was still open after the earlier Coronavirus closure. It is.. Did some packing but the first half of the day I was super groggy for unknown reasons. ๐ด Didn’t do the laundry ๐ as I figured do it all on Friday while I work before heading out in the evening. Assuming tomorrow evening isn’t a complete washout.
I discovered I had accidentally deleted the code that allows me to display charts ๐ and history comparisons today but if you hit refresh ๐ that should be good now. Also uploaded a few other new things. Then it was a busy afternoon at work, getting things lined up before vacation. ๐ Went to the Town Park and worked on the blog for a bit.

I am thinking of leaving tomorrow after work for Madison County ๐ฎ but I might not leave until Saturday morning early if Friday night is going to be a real washout. While I’d rather be farther west and break the trip up going out there not if it means camping the first night in the pouring rain. โ๏ธ I don’t want to get soaked my first night of camping. Still thinking about the mid state route via NY 13 and Cortland.
Weather looks pretty good for next week ๐based on the at least some forecast models but others show more clouds ๐ฅ and rain. It’s summer and it’s a crap shoot but if the weather is too bad I’ll just stay in camp and read ๐. Nice thing about the National Forest is you can camp for up to two weeks, no permit needed.
Been drinking a lot more water ๐ฅค with lemon juice in it. ๐ Much healthier than all that apple ๐ juice I’ve been drinking lately. No sugar in it although I’m sure the acid ain’t great for the teeth but I still drink plenty of milk. ๐ฅPlus a whole lot less plastic trash. โป

Today was a pretty quiet day at my parents house. ๐ I stayed there with the dog ๐ถ taking him out for a walk that totalled 1 1/2 miles. I didn’t mind the walk but he’s gotten very elderly and he was out back most of the day, sitting back next to the heater. He got a little too close to the heater and I started to smell dog hair burning but besides a little patch of sinenged hair he’s fine.
It rained โ a lot more this afternoon than expected and I ended up heading inside with my laptop, researching and processing some new data for the blog. I haven’t made many Google Maps in a while and I’m still going through videos from vacation. ๐ฅ There is a lot of government data out there for making maps and charts ๐ if you know where to look for it.
Knowing where to find government data ๐ค not only helps me make content for the blog, it is helpful reference sometimes for work and I think ta good experience and knowledge that could be useful for future career opportunities especially after I leave the state for good. The more you practice the better you get at it. That’s why I’ve gotten so good at map making.

Good evening! Mostly cloudy but some breaks in the clouds so you can see the moon and 57 degrees inside my bedroom in Delmar, NY according to the display. 🌃There is a south breeze at 5 mph. 🍃. The dew point is 46 degrees. The skies will clear tomorrow around 7 am.
Almost a bit cool to be sitting outside but I still like the fresh air and watching the faint artificial firefly lights dance on the lawn and the trees. Just sitting back listening to some music, ruminating about the day that was. I mean I have to use some of that free solar power I got today or otherwise tomorrow’s sunlight will just be discarded by solar controller. 🌝I checked and despite the clouds and rain the panel was still topping off the battery. It’s kind of pretty and calming but the damn motor in the firefly light is so noisy. 🐸Fine when you have headphones on but it does kind of disturb the peace.
Today wasn’t a half bad day at work. I expected a long day but that was not to be, I caught the five o’clock express bus home.💼 Moreover tomorrow is not a session day so no need to dress up. Going to be a nice morning tomorrow so I may try to get an early start😎 and walk down to the express bus.

Made some Macaroni and Cheese for dinner with a bunch of broccoli. A little bit more high calorie than I normally eat at home but I wanted a change. I get tired of having to find easy to cook meals with low packaging waste that is affordable. I guess I should take another look at the store and get more creative. I always try to have a big portion of vegetables in every meal.
Tonight I went down to the library and uploaded a few new Google Maps to the blog and another chart. I admit that I should do a lot more of that but I’ve gotten tired of that as I’ve mapped and graphed much of what I can get off interesting public data. I should do more digging bit I’m lazy.🐷 Maybe I should come up with some more. At least I have some things ready for the next few days and after which I will either have to make more or dig in the archives for past things folks have long forgotten.

I think I’m going camping in the Adirondacks but where is to be decided. Still thinking about the Wells or Speculator area but with it going to be so warm Saturday, Pisceo Powley seems quite appealing too. โบFishing opportunities are better in Wells though under the dam. Might come back Sunday if it’s a complete washout. Decided to skip kayaking for this trip, I’d rather just park the truck for the weekend, and walk everywhere from camp to save gas, especially now that I expect the solar panel to keep things charged. Plus I get tired of driving all the time.
Got a bunch of books out of the library to read over the long weekend. I plan to spend much of my weekend reading. I really don’t read enough these days. 📚 You can learn much from a good book. Having a smartphone is kind of a big distraction although at least I don’t have regular internet or television at home.

The record high of 94 degrees was set back in 1995.
Decided to buy another six of those FC 16 Max7219 modules from China,🎎 this time in green. I want to build a third large VMS display to use downstairs or for other projects. 💻Set me back $27 as the green modules are somewhat more expensive than the red ones. They also make blue ones but they are even more expensive as they have a different forward voltage than the standard red or even green ones. There may be cheaper LED displays available but these are big enough to be easily read across the room, don’t use much power and can be powered over USB and are well supported by Arduino libraries.
Looking ahead, 8:30 PM Sunset ๏ธโฑ๏ธ is in 2 weeks, Average High is 80 🏖 is a month away, Election Day 2018 🗳๏ธ is in 24 weeks, Thanksgiving 🦃 is in 6 months, Christmas 🎅 is in 31 weeks, New Years Day 2019 🎉 is in 32 weeks, 36th Birthday 🎉 is in 36 weeks and Election Day 2020 🗳๏ธ is in 128 weeks.
🇺🇸🦅Only 2 days remain until the start of Memorial Day Weekend!🦅🇺🇸

Going to warm up and be sunny by mid week. Maybe hit 90. I’ll see what the impact of the landlord cutting all of the various trees in the yard will be, although honestly I think that by the time I get home most nights the sun will be below the tree line. Not going to be really humid this week although possibly some more muggy air could push in on Thursday. Have to watch it.

More than a little annoyed but work is important as pays for ammunition, beer, gasoline, jacked up trucks and guns. But maybe it will be a pattern lasting for most of the summer. I’m hoping for some really nice summer weekends.

As you can see who follow me on Facebook, I’m reconnected between the blog and the Facebook site. I hate messing with the Facebook API which always seems to be changing and breaking things unnecessarily. Still image previews are broken, I got to research that further.
I’ve been researching adding preview images for graphics and Google Maps that I make but that requires a screenshot be rendered and that is a bit more difficult than might appear at first glance. That said it’s in my long term list of coding projects.
