June 29, 2015 evening

Good evening. 59 degrees with partly cloudy varying to mostly cloudy skies. Very humid this evening from the persistent on and off showers that failed to kick the bucket until almost 9 PM.

Maybe the temperatures will drop off to 50 degrees by late but it looks like the rain is gone for tonight. Thunderstorms are possible tommorow with continued humidity and temperatures around 80.

Independence Day Weekend is now looking good starting on Thursday. Independence Day will be the warmest and most humid which brings the chance of afternoon thunderstorms. The weekend otherwise is trending warm and summer like with mostly clear skies. Should be a nice one.

I have Thursday and Friday off from work, so I am planning on leaving early on Thursday for Moose River Plains. This way I will avoid the worst of traffic and not have to drive in the dark but still get a good campsite. Should be a great weekend.

About Land And Water Conservation Fund

The LWCF expires is one our country's most important conservation programs funded by oil and gas extraction on public lands. There is a lot of dispute about allocating funding towards acquisition versus maintenance of public lands, but the real question should be why is the pool so small? Congress shouldn't divert so much funding away from public lands.

June 29, 2015 morning

Sixty four degrees and cloudy this morning. Look for 74 degrees later on today with gradual improvement of the weather expected. In the meantime, it’s quite possible that we get some rain showers.

Glad to be back to working regular hours so I can return to taking the bus to work everyday. Driving in and having to find parking is a pain because you have to pay attention to traffic, watch for red lights, and for random children playing in the streets. One minor mistake could have a lifetime of consequences. On the bus I don’t have to pay attention and can just play with my phone.

Assuming that I can get Thursday off this will be a pretty short week.Β  That’s a good thing because the past few weeks while passing by quickly were a drag and for various reasons haven’t gotten out and traveled much this spring. Moose River Plains should be fun.
