Good Afternoon! Yeap, it’s Friday the 13th.

Be ever so careful in everything you do, because as we all know, Saturday the 14th comes after the 13th.  That said, despite it looking like we are going to get showers mid-day, it’s going to be a lot cooler for the weekend.

Sort of Staying In Town This Weekend. I am however considering going for a hike at North Mountain in the Catskills on Saturday. I would get up early, and hike the area and some of the carriage roads later in the afternoon. On Sunday, I have to drive down to Long Island with my parents for the burial of my grandmother on Monday.

Next Weekend Going Up to Moose River Plains. Assuming the weather is good, I have Thursday and Friday off next week, to go up to Moose Plains. My guess is it will be peak color that weekend, and if the weather is good like the super-long range is saying, it should be a delightful weekend. I’ll try to capture lots of pictures.

Then There is the October Trip. This one I would spend a couple of nights in the Finger Lakes, before heading to Letchworth State Park, maybe Allegany State Park, then I want to check out for the first time Kinzua Bridge State Park in Pennsylvania, and also Chautuaqua Gorge in NY. I am thinking the second week of October, as I think this would be peak foliage. I haven’t requested the time off yet, but I think I can still get it, if I wait another week, and take another look at the weather and foliage forecast before requesting the week off.

Started Getting Up At 6 AM-ish. At least that’s when I’ve set my alarm clock for. I am now heading to bed at like 9:30 or 10 PM — no sense in staying up much later, as the sun is setting early, and what can on really do that late at night? I’d rather have the time in the morning. It’s also to get use to this rhythm for camping, as despite the relatively early sunset, the sun is still up by 6:35 AM most mornings — and often earlier on clear days.
