The Facts About Old Smokey
Pulling and unwrapping the upfitter wires
I found them by pulling the Upfitter Box after I found the correct snaps to pull, and then the box just lifts up, m exposing the various switched wires from the Aux Switches in the cab. Not sure I can wire the Secondary Engine Idle Control Speed from here or if I have to do it from the pass through wires in side. I am still trying to figure that part out.

This requires pulling the kick panel inside on the passenger side, and unwrapping them. The pass through wires are pretty thin, and if I'm running the CB antenna in, I might just run my own thicker wire from a couple of the wires from the upfitter switches. I was exploring, trying to find a good route through the firewall, but ultimately I might use the bung under the seat to run wires, but I just got to be careful I don't hit any of the control module under the seat.
Saturday May 2, 2026 — Old SmokeyCrawling under the SuperDuty I was pleasantly surprised how easy oil changes will be to do
The worse thing looks to be adding oil, as the engine is relatively low in the truck, as it's the small MiniZilla gas engine, compared to the big diesel engine or the Godzilla. While the truck is new I'll probably have the dealership deal with the 2-gallon oil change (yes it uses 2 gallons of motor oil or 8 quarts of oil).

Is when I hit the key fob to unlock the doors on the SuperDuty after it's been parked for a few days the height and mirror lights don't come on to save battery power. This disappoints me as a big kid I like looking at the roof lights in the dark.
