Nelson is a town in Madison County, New York, United States. The population was 1,980 at the 2010 census. It is home to scenic Nelson Swamp and Stoney Pond State Forest, and is located between Morrisville and Cazenovia.

Mid-weekend on my three-day weekend spent up at Stoney Pond State Forest in early November, only a week since I was in West Virginia. Wasn't always the sunniest or warmest weekend but getting away to Madison County is always fun.
