Often when I’m up in the wilderness, I really enjoy smoking a little grass and staring at ripples on the water as it bubbles over the stones in the creek. Local folklore says the cream cheese came from Philadelphia, NY, just northeast of Fort Drum. It’s even mentioned on the town website, but others claim its just a myth.

While the State Parks Department no longer maintains any highway bridges, with NYS DOT taking over maintenance of the parkways in 1978, the NYS DEC operates division of Operations which among maintaining roads also maintains several bridges on truck trails and other forest roads.
