I have been looking at the trail in the vicinity of John Boyd ?Thacher State Park. Your stream layer is full of errors. I am curious as to its source.
The Stream Layer is from OpenStreetMap. I am not sure where the original source is, althoug I would guess the National Hydrological Dataset is a likely source. The trail layer itself is also from OpenStreetMPa.
