I used bungee cords, along with ropes over the bumpers of the truck / tow hooks. I can just take off the cord off the back bumper, and get in the back for tools and camping.

Fortunately he didn't get it taken off.

This is my truck, camping in the back field where I have a little camp site set up by the creek. It is quite nice.
