Tuesday, coffee time β˜•

Nice morning but cool for the bike ride in today. Sure beats taking the SuperDuty to work with gas prices, much less the yokel, it’s so local bus and shuttle to work via Delaware. Didn’t sleep well last night, the afternoon strong coffee I wanted to take so I’d be awake for the drive home from my parents house in Westerlo. Those automatic dimmng headlights in the SuperDuty are great.

Went out to visit Mom and dad, and show Big Red to a few people who stopped by. Since I lowered the price to $3,500, there has been a big uptick in interest, some of the leads are promising, indeed I probably could have sold him by now if I would go with some of the low ballers. πŸ€‘ But I have time, I want to find a fair price, and are willing to wait a few more weeks for the right buyer. It’s so little money, but I have pride, and don’t want to completely get ripped off. 😠 If anything, maybe it’s my ego, which is why I negotiated such a tough bargain with dealers to buy the SuperDuty.

Two people looked at Big Red, one made an offer but I thought was too low at this point. So I thanked him, said would consider it more. Then another person stopped by, took Red for a test drive and seemed interested but wanted to study the rust more in the daylight. πŸ” He wanted to put down a deposit but I said we’ll talk if he decides to buy and gives a reasonable number. The other person made an offer, but i passed because it was too low. 🀝 I don’t want this to go on forever, and I want to get rid of the old truck by winter, ❄️

Truth is that I enjoy spending time with Mom and Dad, πŸ§“πŸ‘΄as I know there is only so much time left. Maybe I am too negative or fretting on time being short, as there could be many years left, but I don’t know. You really never know. πŸ’ Who knows I could be back later in the week if somebody else wants to look at the truck. πŸ” Still I enjoy those conversations even if they are pretty much the same old, politics, work, retirement life. We had spaghetti squash with sausage and peppers from the garden. 🌢 And I did my wash. They had some zucchini for me which was great as I thought zucchini season was rapidly passing us by, as Meads Farm was out for the year already. πŸ†

Mom and Dad are off on vacation shortly, πŸ• so no visiting them for the next few weeks but I am still thinking about heading up to camp on Thursday or maybe Friday to Vermont for the weekend. 🌦 Threat of rain remains stubborn for Thursday’s drive up, and even more rain on Sunday. I checked the Bennington library is open 10 AM to 5 PM, which is good, as while I’ll probably work from my truck (or camp depending on work load), if I’m at the library, I’d want to be able to run in and use the rest room. 🚽 Leaning towards hiking Haystack Mountain on Saturday in Vermont. πŸƒ‍♀️Want to get there early though before the crowds. Sunday still looks rather wet, but I guess I could take down camp early and head home, though I was kind of hoping to stay in Vermont through Monday.
