While liberals for a while were pretty certain that President Trump was going to get us into war with Iran over his silly pissing match, one thing that seems likely is that we will get through his presidency without war.
Probably mostly dumb luck because the president has alienated both our allies and opponents alike and has managed to distabilize the world and actively worked to undermine global cooperation and unity. But I also think Trump is an isolationist and really doesn’t want to get the country into war.
Yet, that’s a terrible way to act on the international stage and it seems rather unbelievable that we are turning our back on the globe. We can and should do better.
