Driving back on US 20 on Guilderland got me thinking how different Guilderland is compared to the more westerly parts of the Western Turnpike

Driving back on US 20 on Guilderland got me thinking how different Guilderland is compared to the more westerly parts of the Western Turnpike … 🚗

It really isn’t that many miles to the west before you leave the suburban businesses and four lanes of traffic — mostly beyond Carmen Road and get out into open farm country. 🚜 It’s really beautiful, working land, not so perfect like suburbia — full of smells and dirt — old houses and falling apart machinery. I really enjoyed my trip out to Madison County last weekend, and hope to get back out that way later this winter or spring.

What I find so objectionable about a War with Iran

What I find so objectionable about a War with Iran… 🇺🇸

A War with Iran means a larger government with more laws and regulations, 🏤 a greater police state,🚨 and higher taxes. 💰 We should be focusing on domestic concerns, shrinking and getting the government off our backs rather than flooding our streets and public places with cops 👮 to keep us supposedly safe while burning 🔥 up millions in foreign countries 💣 bombing the heck out of them. 💥

Minor earthquake shakes southern Adirondacks early Saturday morning | NCPR News

A minor earthquake shook the southern Adirondacks over the weekend. The 1.8 magnitude quake hit near North Creek in Warren County around 3 a.m. Saturday.

Residents in both North Creek and Johnsburg reported feeling the quake to the US Geological Survey.

While earthquakes are less frequent in the Eastern US compared to west of the Rocky Mountains, the Adirondack Park is one of the more seismically active regions in the Northeast.
