People don’t realize how powerful the news media is at setting the narrative of the day. Had this cold snap occurred when there was more news than the holiday weekend, it would have gotten little coverage.

True, it’s the first cold snap since February 2015, but the weather is not unusual for winter in Albany, certainly not for January. It was a cold New Years Day but hardly exceptionally cold per the record books. And hardly cold compared to the Upper Midwest winters much less Montana or North Dakota.
