June 13, 2017 Morning

Good morning! Happy Hot and Humid Tuesday. Three weeks to Independence Day. Clouds to the north, some blue skies to the south and 71 degrees in Delmar, NY. There is a west-southwest breeze at 5 mph.  Doesn’t sound that bad until you realize that the dew point is 67 degrees. It’s a bath of humidity out there. Air quality alert from the heat and humidity causing the nitrous oxides and hydrocarbons in the air to bake into smog. The muggy weather ends around 10 pm. Or so they promise us at the National Weather Service.

Today will have a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after noon. Partly sunny, with a high of 88 degrees at 3pm. 11 degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 71 at 11am. I don’t care what Weather Underground says, today is going to be hot and humid, more miserable then yesterday. West wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. A year ago, we had rain, mostly cloudy skies and a high of 66 degrees. The record high of 94 was set in 1892.
