One Week Until Summer Vacation ...

Of course, I am taking a vacationette or a warm up trip starting this evening through Sunday to do Bramley Mountain, Mine Kill Pool, Catskill Scenic Trail, but it's just practice for the real thing, lol.

I didn't like the traffic or difficulty finding a good campsite on Saturday, so I started leaving for summer vacation on Friday. And somehow over the years, Friday somehow became Thursday. Well, except for last year, where it was a Wednesday before the week off through Labor Day, some well 13 days to keep it under the Forest Service limit and because that's what time I had available from work. But last year was a weird year as I didn't take much time off in July and August because of my extreme paranoia over creaking that Big Red was doing that last year. It will be so nice to descend those hills in the Finger Lakes without downshifting and praying that I have enough residual braking capacity left to stop at the bottom of the hills.
