Why so giggly?
Sprayed my bike discs before bed with BrakeKleen before parking my bike indoors for the night.
At least my brakes no longer squeal while riding. But when stopping they are a bit noisy but I’m okay with that and BrakeKleen if anything improves stopping power. That noise typically goes away in a few days. BrakeKleen is flammable and definitely will smoke a bit for a bit of I ride them hard – one time might have been Ithaca I rode them hard enough that the disks were smoking. It is wild to look down and see clouds of smoke pouring out of discs on a mountain bike.
Tried to straighten the bent derailuer hanger, that snapped and I was afraid I broke the frame but once I freaked out about it I cleaned off the grease, went to the bike store, bought the part and five minutes of screwing it on, excellent shifting with a straight and brand new rear drive train as I replaced the derailuer last week. Honestly had I replaced the derailuer hanger months ago, I probably could have avoided wrecking the derailuer but the derailuer spring was pretty much shot, limit screws frozen in place from road salt, gears super worn and the derailuer cage wasn’t particularly straight either. Rear derailuer has been on there since the factory, three years of commuting, mud, ice, road salt. Honest I’m trying to get better at wrenching my bike, helps when you buy quality tools and parts.
