Gas Up – June 13-14 and 20-21, 2026

Coming up in a few weeks is the Gas Up – the annual vintage machinery exposition held in Gallupville outside of Schoharie.

Organized by the Hudson Mohawk Chapter of the Pioneer Gas Engine Association since 1967, the family-friendly festival preserves and demonstrates early industrial and agricultural equipment.

Event Details & Logistics

  • Event Name: 59th Annual Gas Up (2026)
  • Dates & Times: June 13, 14, 20, and 21, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily. The event traditionally runs across two consecutive weekends, concluding on Father’s Day.
  • Venue: Gas Up Showgrounds, 130 Murphy Road, Schoharie/Gallupville, NY 12157.
  • Cost: Free admission and free parking (donations are welcome to support the organization).
  • Policy: No pets are allowed on the showgrounds.

Key Exhibits and Activities

  • Vintage Machinery: Visitors can view operating antique steam, gasoline, and oil engines, including historic “hit-and-miss” engines.
  • Live Demonstrations: The grounds feature an old steam-powered sawmill at work, stone crushing, blacksmithing, and wood sawing.
  • Vehicles & Parades: Check out antique tractors, military vehicles, fire trucks, and classic cars. A special parade of antique vehicles takes place on Sundays at 2:00 PM.
  • Family Entertainment: The event offers antique tractor-pulled hayrides, live music across all four days, and community clogging performances.
  • Food & Treats: On-site catering is provided by Barbecue Delights Catering, alongside a crowd favorite: made-on-site, homemade ice cream.
