A pleasant evening ๐Ÿž๏ธ

Down at Normans Kill Preserve for a while this evening and then I need to run to the grocery store and pick up a few more things to make it through the week before summer vacation starts on Friday. Still need to get the bank and get cash and run to the laundromat, but once Friday daylight arrives I’ll be ready to hit the road.

It’s only Tuesday but I’m already feeling tired. ๐Ÿ˜ด Maybe it was after such a fun week hammock camping and spending time out in the folks. I still can’t believe that homestead off NY 32 next to my parents house is still up for sale, with the grass growing and it’s otherwise looking very abandoned. I know it has my name written all over it, and I toured it, and I do need a more permanent living arrangement, but I am still not sure I want to spend my whole life in New York and it would be hard to sell. ๐Ÿš Plus, I really want to leave rural, not exurban in a short commuting distance from the city. But I should really be thinking about summer vacation at this point and not be thinking about future.

Got a new kickstand for the bike ๐Ÿšฒ and replaced the very worn out and slippery handle grips. The bike will be much better for riding trail. Plus a kickstand at times is convenient – I was annoyed when the other broke off. Also got spare lantern ๐Ÿฎ glass and replaced the broken percolator top. Got the parts bolted on the bike, ๐Ÿ”งafter struggling a bit to figure out how to properly attach the new handlebar grips. That’s the last of supplies I plan to buy before vacation. ๐Ÿ–

My boots have been falling apart all week, ๐Ÿฅพ since the sole started to seperate from the boot while camping. I bought some superglue, and will tape ๐Ÿฉน it up again to see if I can at least get through the week, and hopefully vacation with these old worn out boots. I don’t want to wreck brand new boots out camping next week, especially if my feet are getting wet or if it’s a particularly wet and raining week.

Checked the fluids on truck and all look good. ๐ŸŒƒ It’s a nice evening, just sitting out back and taking advantage of good weather as tomorrow I need to clean and pack, and then Thursday finish things up and get ready to leave early tomorrow.
