Why reasons I’m more inclined to vote Republican this year 🐘

I’m a registered Democrat. I often do split my ticket, but I generally vote more Democratic then not. But maybe I won’t be voting for many Democrats this year because of the way things are going in our country.

Censorship

Leftist politicians continue to push forwards efforts to join with multi-national media corporations to silence conservative voices and alternative perspectives, while forcing liberal views to rise to the top of social media feeds. Alternative platforms are regularly be shut down — just because the politicians in Washington don’t like alternative voices that criticize them. Leftists claim it’s racism, or terrorism, but in reality it’s criticisms of their policies that make them uncomfortable. We need a free and open internet, where ideas can be freely debated, even though ideas that are threatening and uncomfortable to those in power.

Do Gooders in Ukraine

I think US has been too concerned about being do-gooders and defending Ukraine and the humanitarian situation over there, and not enough focused on the impacts of sanctions on Russia and war involvement on the lives of ordinary Americans. While what is happening in Ukraine is tragic for the people of Ukraine, the US should be focused on helping Americans at home, not other nations.

Energy Prices

One of the most important issues for a strong economy that uplifts people is the cost of energy, which for practical purposes means fossil fuels. It stinks to high hell to buy oil and natural gas from Russia, but it’s the right thing to do for global stability and energy prices. We should be encouraging a quick resolution to the end of war in Ukraine, and if that means Russian takes over Ukraine, that’s fine. Sucks for the Ukrainian people, but it might be the right option for world and ultimately Ukraine. Shorter, quicker war, means less people hurt and damaged in Ukraine and throughout the world.

Inflation

For too long, Democrats have not taken the inflation situation seriously. Their proposals to address inflation have been but a joke — expanding government spending on child care or other welfare benefits isn’t a solution when the problem is too much cash flooding the economy from people’s pockets. Likewise, it’s hard not to blame the flush coffers of local government from the big-spending of the infrastructure bill for driving up inflation — you send tons of money to build infrastructure, it’s going to be spent, driving up prices.

Second Amendment

If you don’t believe they are coming for your guns, then this is the year that may change your mind. Radical new gun control proposals are being rammed down our throat, with the only check on power the Supreme Court. Millions of Americans will have their rights denied or curtailed, if Congress doesn’t step in and limit the power of states. A conservative majority on Congress could help the US Supreme Court to protect our rights.
