Weather Update – July 15, 2021
Looks like when the fog 🌫 burns off it will be hot 🏖 today. After breakfast 🥞 and a shower 🚿, I’m going to catch a bus 🚍 and head downtown to work in the office. Air conditioning there and I can draw the shades.
The other unit director requested Friday off, so I have to work Friday to supervise staff and I have an dentist appointment first thing Monday morning, 🦷 So no long weekend for me. I’m not complaining, as I don’t think it’s going to be a particularly nice weekend ⛈️, probably best just to do the Nature Bus 🚍 up to Thacher Park 🏞.
On the other hand, Schoharie isn’t the other side of the world, 🏊♀️ and summer is going away quickly. I saw the free car show 🚘 they have the NYPA Headquarters is this weekend, and it could be fun to go swimming and camp at Burnt-Rossman State Forest. Gas costs money, but I am not that broke. ⛽ But if it’s going to be cloudy and rainy all weekend, maybe Thacher Park is better. They are still talking about a 1/2 inch of rain on Saturday, which sounds pretty wet. 🌧
A week from Friday is the start of summer vacation. Probably leave right after work, ☀ that is if the weather is nice with the first night at Charles Baker, than Montezuma and ultimately the Finger Lakes National Forest. I’m working from home, so I might leave a bit early, I could probably ask for part of the afternoon off. Probably another fairly low key vacation, 😎 I think I like it better when there is less travel, less hustle and rush. Just stay in the same campsite ⛺ for the whole week in the National Forest.
