February 21, 2020 Night

Good evening! Clear and 23 degrees in Delmar, NY. There is a south breeze at 6 mph. 🍃. There is a dusting of snow on the ground. ☃ Things will start to thaw out at tomorrow around 10 am. 🌡️

Tonight will be clear 🌃, with a low of 18 degrees at 5am. One degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around February 20th. I left the heat turned down as going to mbe fairly warm come tomorrow. Maximum wind chill around 11 at 4am; South wind around 7 mph. In 2019, we had cloudy skies. It got down to 28 degrees. The record low of -8 occurred back in 1963.

I decided to stay home this evening. 🏡 Rode the exercise bike for a while 🚲 but my neighbor was home so I didn’t want to make too much noise. He did leave later on for work but it was getting late. Pine Bush Hike tomorrow 🚶 and I’ll have other chances to get out and enjoy the fresh air through the weekend.

Tonight will have a New 🌚 Moon with 2% illuminated. The Worm 🐛 Moon is on Sunday, March 8. The darkest hour is at 12:10 am, followed by dawn at 6:17 am, and sun starting to rise at 6:45 am in the east-southeast (104°) and last for 3 minutes Sunrise is one minute and 30 seconds earlier than yesterday. 🌄 The golden hour ends at 7:24 am with sun in the east-southeast (111°). Tonight will have 13 hours and 8 minutes of darkness, a decrease of 2 minutes and 47 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will be sunny 🌞, with a high of 39 degrees at 2pm. Three degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around March 1st. Southwest wind 7 to 14 mph becoming west in the afternoon. A year ago, we had partly cloudy skies in the morning, remaining cloudy in the afternoon. The high last year was 39 degrees. The record high of 68 was set in 1997. 14.8 inches of snow fell back in 1893.❄

In four weeks on March 20 the sun will be setting in the west (271°) at 7:08 pm (Daylight Savings Time),🌄 which is one hour, 33 minutes and 51 seconds later then tonight. In 2019 on that day, we had mostly sunny skies and temperatures between 55 and 27 degrees. That was a nice early spring day. Typically, you have temperatures between 46 and 27 degrees. The record high of 78 degrees was set back in 2012.

Looking ahead, 7 PM Sunset 🌆 is in 3 weeks, Spring 🌷 is in 4 weeks, Good Friday ✝️ is in 7 weeks, May 🕊 is in 10 weeks and 8:30 PM Sunset ️⛱️ is in 15 weeks.
