Rail Trail is Too Popular in the Summer.

Rail trail is too popular in the nicer weather …

 Fallen

I like hiking the Albany County Rail Trail, but not so much now that the nicer weather is here. There is just too much in crowds, too many bicycles, too many leisurely strollers, too many runners, too many kids, just generally too many people on the trail during the summer months.

I have to wonder if the county under-estimated the popularity of the trail, and made it a bit too narrow for folks to enjoy. It seems like when you have a lot of people on there, passing bicycles and even walkers can be challenging, if there are folk coming the other way.

There really also ought to be some bathrooms along the trail, maybe a porta-potty or an outhouse. Just a quick, private place to take a tinkle. I know when I am often walking, I find myself needing to take a tinkle. When there are this many people out there, it can be challenging to find a good private place to tinkle.
