I am kind of glad I decided that I went to Cherry Ridge Camping Area in Madison County rather than the East Branch of the Sacandaga River / NY 8 this weekend.

I am kind of glad I decided that I went to Cherry Ridge Camping Area in Madison County rather than the East Branch of the Sacandaga River / NY 8 this weekend. As scenic as the Adirondacks and the East Branch are there is the constant drone of traffic and trucks downshifting along NY 8 versus only a handful of hunters pickups here. Camping on the East Branch at times feels like camping in the median of an expressway. Plus in many ways the scenery of Madison County is rather different from the Finger Lakes where I was two weeks ago. And much less snow.
