June 5, 2018 Morning

Good Morning! Today has the first 8:30 PM Sunset of the year ️⛱️. Cloudy, gray, damp and 58 degrees in Delmar, NY. ☁ 62 degrees in my bedroom if you are curious. There is a southwest breeze at 6 mph. 🍃. The dew point is 51 degrees. The skies will clear tomorrow around 2 pm.

Kind of a dreary Tuesday. I didn’t quite catch my normal bus downtown so I ended up catching the later bus to work. 🚌 That’s fine, I doubt I’ll be getting out until relatively late.

Today will have some scattered showers, mainly before 5pm. Mostly cloudy 💦, with a high of 66 degrees at 3pm. Nine degrees below normal. Maximum dew point of 51 at 8am. Southwest wind 6 to 10 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. A year ago, we had cloudy skies. The high last year was 66 degrees. The record high of 97 was set in 1925.

The sun will set at 8:30 pm with dusk around 9:04 pm, which is 41 seconds later than yesterday. 🌇 At sunset, look for mostly cloudy skies ☁ and 61 degrees. The dew point will be 48 degrees. There will be a northwest breeze at 8 mph. Today will have 15 hours and 11 minutes of daytime, an increase of one minute and one second over yesterday.

Tonight will have a slight chance of showers before 7pm, then a slight chance of showers after 10pm. Mostly cloudy ☁, with a low of 50 degrees at 5am. Four degrees below normal. Northwest wind 3 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%. In 2017, we had light rain and mist. It got down to 50 degrees. The record low of 38 occurred back in 1971.

So I ordered a ESP32 development board for future projects. It is much more powerful than the Arduino Nano that I use for many of my projects, although it’s about three times as expensive at $6 and uses three times more power at 70 mA, neither are big constraints but I figure I should use the most efficient version possible for my projects. ESP32 boards aren’t exactly the same as Arduino Nano but they work in the same IDE and aren’t that big of a change between the different boards. 🐙

Not sure about the weekend plans, as lately the forecast for Saturday night into Sunday looks wet, 💦but I still want to go to the Gas Up in Gallupville. 🚜 Camping would be nice but not in the rain. Just got to keep watching the forecast.

Looking ahead, there are 22 weeks until Election Day 2018 🗳️ when the sun will be setting at 4:41 pm with dusk at 5:11 pm (Standard Time). On that day in 2017, we had rain, mist, cloudy skies and temperatures between 63 and 42 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 52 degrees. We hit a record high of 73 back in 2015.
