April 5, 2018 Morning

Good morning! Happy Thursday. It’s the direct drive of the week. Tomorrow is Friday. Mostly cloudy and 29 degrees in Delmar, NY. ☁ Breezy, ️21 mph breeze from the west-northwest 🌬 with gusts up to 33 mph 💨💨💨. The current wind chill is 16. Almost wish I had turned on the heat before bed, as it’s pretty cold this morning. 🌡️

Today will have isolated snow showers before 1pm. Mostly sunny ❄ , with a high of 41 degrees at 3pm. 13 degrees below normal. Breezy, with a west wind 21 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%. A year ago, we had cloudy skies. The high last year was 53 degrees. The record high of 82 was set in 1928. 1.1 inches of snow fell back in 1914.❄

The sun will set at 7:26 pm with dusk around 7:55 pm, which is one minute and 8 seconds later than yesterday. 🌇 At sunset, look for mostly clear skies and 37 degrees. There will be a west-northwest breeze at 15 mph. That wind will make it feel more like winter than April. Today will have 12 hours and 57 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 50 seconds over yesterday. I think tomorrow will have 13 hours of daylight, which is fine except for the fact it will rain and snow.

Tonight will be partly cloudy ☁, with a low of 22 degrees at 5am. 12 degrees below normal. Northwest wind 6 to 11 mph becoming light and variable in the evening. Another very cold evening. I might seriously have to think turning the heat back on. In 2017, we had mostly cloudy skies. It got down to 41 degrees. The record low of 14 occurred back in 1943.

Going to have to adjust my deferred compensation upward again, because I’m still paying more in taxes than I would like. I’d rather have a little extra for retirement at any rate.👴 It’s good to save a little extra for retirement, as I’m sure even if I do live in an off grid with lots of land there is still things that can pop up that will be quite expensive like needing a four wheeler or a truck. 💰Maybe I should put the money towards regular investing but taxes have gotten so out of control.

Went down to the library for a while then did some soldering when I got home.📚 Building another USB powered warm white LED light. 🔦I kind of want to build one with a switch but I need the 555 chips to arrive to do that.

The bus I’m taking downtown has a broken strut and is rattling along the road. 🚌Some driver must have killed it going over the rough potholed roads. Some drivers aren’t gentle with the buses when it comes to potholes.

Still chewing over whether I will go to that gun violence forum for the hell of it 🔫and to learn what the other side is thinking or if I’ll just stay home and work some more on🔬 soldering various projects. Being a heckler is a lot of fun.

The weekend forecast hasn’t changed much, just cold and cloudy on Sunday. I’ll probably get up early to drop the bottles and cans ♻off at the recycling center and then maybe load the camping gear back into the truck. I’m hoping to get out camping relatively soon now that April is underway.

One month 📅 from now will be Cinco de Mayo 🤠 when the sun will be setting at 8:00 pm with dusk at 8:31 pm. The average high temperature is 54 degrees, with a record high of 82 in 1928.
