February 19, 2018 Morning

Good morning! Happy Presidents Day or as the federal government calls it, Washington’s Birthday. 👴I still rather celebrate it in June or August but somebody a long time ago decided that they wanted a winter holiday. Three weeks to 7 PM Sunset. 🌄Now that is big news! Pleasant morning today for February. Mostly sunny and 27 degrees in Delmar, NY. 🌞🌞🌞There is a south breeze at 10 mph.

🌷🌷Only 29 days remain until the first day of calendar spring!🌷🌷

Today, which the feds call Washington’s Birthday will rain likely, mainly after 3pm. Increasing clouds, with a high of 44 degrees at 1pm. ☀⛅☔Nine degrees above normal. South wind 10 to 17 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible. A year ago, we had mostly cloudy skies, clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 52 degrees. The record high of 66 was set in 1981. 11.4 inches of snow fell back in 1972.

The sun will set at 5:33 pm with dusk around 6:01 pm, which is one minute and 17 seconds later than yesterday.🌄  At sunset, look for rain with the mercury around  43 degrees.☔☔ There will be a south breeze at 14 mph. Today will have 10 hours and 48 minutes of daytime, a increase of 2 minutes and 46 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will rain, mainly before 10pm. ☔Patchy fog. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low of 42 degrees at 6pm. ☁24 degrees above normal. South wind 7 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible. In 2017, we had mostly clear skies. It got down to 26 degrees. The record low of -16 occurred back in 1966.

Yesterday I went for a nice little walk from the Slingerlands Firehouse to Voorheesville Train Park, which was a nine mile round trip. I definitely enjoyed that more remote section of the trail, 🏃although a lot of the trail is quite flat and boring, running through suburbanites backyards. 🏡The new railroad park in Voorheesville seems a bit silly 🚂because I can’t imagine that many people picnicking next to the rail yard but may be the kids like the train climbing playground.

As previously noted, there are 3 weeks until 7 PM Sunset🌅 with dusk at 7:26 pm (Daylight Savings Time). On that day in 2017, we had mostly cloudy skies and temperatures between 23 and 6 degrees. Cold last year after a very warm winter. Typically, the high temperature is 43 degrees. We hit a record high of 69 back in 2012.
