Cario Roundtop

Also known as Dome Mountain or by the indigenous name Wa-wan-te-pe-kook ("Round Head Piece"), this peak is a prominent landmark in the Great Northern Catskills. The mountain is primarily composed of 400-million-year-old quartz sandstone. Interestingly, it survived massive glacial scouring that shaped much of the surrounding Hudson Valley. The elevation stands at approximately 1,434 feet (437 meters).
