The Upper Hudson Ski Loop trail is 4.2 miles and parallels the Goodnow River (north-side) to the Hudson River. The trail heads north along the Hudson for a short distance before looping back and reconnecting with itself 0.5 mile from the trailhead
Most of the watering holes in New York State are located in populated areas. I guess that is not real surprising, as that's where the people is and that's where you would build a business. Some of the rural towns in upstate are dry. This might be a more interesting map if I had done bars per capita -- maybe that's a project for a future date. Map shows density of licensed establishments selling liqour for on-site consumption.

A general rule is you can step over brook, jump over a creek, wade across a stream, and swim across a river. But some regions of the state prefer one term over the other, regardless of the size of the waterbody.
