Owls Head Mountain Firetower (Long Lake) 📍

It says it was placed in 1942 by USGS. It's right below the fire tower proper.

The area around Owls Head is worn down to rock. There probably is room to land a helicopter up here in an emergency.

The view of Long Lake is partially blocked by the small hills that make up most of country in the Sargent Ponds Wild Forest.

Blue Mountain is another fire tower / mountain that is visible from Owls Head. Located about 10 miles away, in the foreground are Minnow Pond and Mud Pond.
