About a 1/2 mile of Garnet Lake is publicly owned on the eastern side (along with most of the south-western side), and the truck trail runs right along the lake here.
Friday April 22, 2011 — Garnet Lake — Garnet Lake 🗺 — Mud Pond Trail 🗺One of the best parts of the internet, is you can go to the Adirondacks without even leaving home. Some beautiful country along the Mill Creek, which runs on the backside of Crane Mountain.
On the state land along the east side, there are several clearings where there once where extra campsites developed. These areas, besides the section where the road runs right on the edge of the lake, gives you a good view of Ross Mountain, and just out of the frame, Mount Blue.
