Aldrich Pond Wild Forest 📍

The Aldrich Pond Wild Forest (APWF) is described as those Adirondack Forest Preserve lands lying within the following bounds: North by north bank of the Oswegatchie River; East by County Route 50; West on NYS Route 3 to Youngs Road, south on Youngs Road to administrative/private ROW road to Tamarack Creek Snowmobile Trail to Francis Hill Road (east) to Bassetts Creek to boundary of Five Ponds Wilderness Area (St. Lawrence/Herkimer county line); South by county line to southern bank of Middle Branch of the Oswegatchie River; West by the Adirondack Park boundary. Aldrich Pond Wild Forest contains 26,702 acres.

Old Board Road

I don't know if these boards where somehow part of the original railroad bed or where laid later. At any rate, this shows you how straight the road and flat is around here as an old railroad grade. A normal truck trail would not be like this at all.
