Weather Update – November 25, 2021
If you get up early and outside might be a nice Thanksgiving ๐ฆ
I am getting up shortly and will probably head out to Five Rivers around dawn for a walk ๐ถ and to look at the birds ๐ฆ before heading out to the folks house for Thanksgiving. More clouds later, then a mix bad tonight into tomorrow.
The weekend looks cold enough, that they are talking about wind chills in the teens again. ๐งค I am not ready for winter yet, but regardless it’s coming. I guess I should be expecting it, after all it is Thanksgiving and official calendar winter is less then a month away, and we’ve been lucky so far.

Good Morning – November 25, 2021
Good morning! Happy Thanksgiving ๐ฆ !
It’s turkey day, though not a cheap one thanks to COVID-19 inflation. My hope is though that the fed will raise interest rates, and that will at least help with some of the losses in savings, though that won’t really help out with stock market. Cold start to the morning, though warmer then yesterday.
Partly sunny and 27 degrees in Delmar, NY. ๐ Calm wind. No wind really helps. Things will start to thaw out at around 8 am. ๐ก๏ธ
Yesterday, I went for my evening walk ๐ถโ๏ธ and checked out the fireworks at the town park. ๐ Wasn’t the biggest firework display ever — it was over in less then 10 minutes, and I was in a position on Elm Avenue to start out my walk that my view wasn’t that great, but by the time I got to Delmar Bypass Extension, with better views, I got really good views as they were shooting the fireworks almost over head.
Got in over 15,000 steps yesterday ๐ข which really ain’t too bad as it was a work day. I got an early start, caught the early bus downtown from the express lot, and walked for a while on the plaza before work, and then at lunch time went up to Washington Park. It was a cold morning, but the fresh air was nice, and I don’t like having to wear the muzzle inside.
I got up around 5 AM this morning, made pancakes for breakfast ๐ฅ and coffee. โ Just waiting for the sun to rise and then I will hike out to Five Rivers to look at the birdies and wildlife. ๐ฆ ๐ฟ
Heading out to the folks house later for Thanksgiving. ๐ฆ This year we can sit around the table which is nice as everybody is fully vaccinated. ๐ด All the fixings, etc. It’s good after a year of craziness ๐คช that things can get somewhat back to normal, although I still have to wear the muzzle ๐ท to work and the bus.
I haven’t gotten my booster shot yet, but I might in the coming weeks. ๐ I’ve been eligible for a few weeks — as I am considered a public facing employee and we’re six months out, but I am not truly sure how necessary it is to go through another day of recovery from the shot. ๐ช I’m going to watch and see how bad the COVID gets this winter, and what the evolving public advice is on booster shots. The state as of a week or two didn’t think it that essential for those under 65, although a lot of people I know are getting it.
