As my parents are busy tonight I decided to do my walk out to Van Dyke Preserve and then Five Rivers later this evening. Van Dyke was nice, really greening up with blue skies but all I saw was a squirrel, usual tons of robins and song sparrows. By the time I got to Five Rivers the skies had grayed up but unlike yesterday, the spring peepers were loud with the warmer temperatures and light drizzle.

Addiction is kind of a scary word, a concept much stigmatized and pushed to the edge of society. We say it can happen to anybody but secretly want to believe that it can’t happen to ourselves. It’s a concept that I’m vaguely familiar with but one I’m also facing as a fire bug, realizing that it’s something I must confront along with addressing the other anxiety issues in my own life in my therapy sessions. Addicting behaviors at one level are a lot of fun but at the same time they can become a problem when they are too big of a portion of one’s life.
April 18, 2021 – Looking Ahead This Week
Monday and Wednesday look to be worse days of the week, with showers and cold on Thursday. Other then that a fairly seasonable week, with maybe some needed precipitation to reduce the fire risk and help things green up. At times the temperatures will be a bit below normal but not super cold.
