The Day the Music Died 2016 Morning

Good morning! Today is the anniversary of the Day the Music Died. There is light rain and 40 degrees in Delmar. Today will be rain. High near 55. Breezy, with a south wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 39 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible. Just forget about using an umbrella today. It will be wrecked.

Sunset will be at 5:11 pm with twilight at 5:41 pm which is one minute and 19 seconds later then yesterday. Tonight we will have a Waining Crescent Moon with 29% illuminated. It will rise at 3:04 am. With clearing expected late, you may see it as an early riser. The New Moon is on Monday. Every it’s getting closer, going faster than a roller coaster.

There are 26 days until Leap Day. February is the harshest month of them in Albany, so I know I can’t wait for the month to conclude. We often get the biggest snow storms in March but the stronger sun angle means that the snow rarely lasts.

Today is the day the music died in 1959. Deaths of rock and roll musicians Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and J. P. “The Big Bopper” Richardson, in a plane crash near Clear Lake, Iowa. Bye, bye. Ms American Pie. Drove the Chevy to the levy, but the levy was dry.

In some ways it’s kind of a dreary morning, listening to Don McLean, Buddy Holly, the Big Bobber, and Richie Valens. The good news is the sun returns tomorrow, a bit with colder temperatures. Do you recall what was revealed on the day the music died?
