- He speaks directly to the core beliefs of many Democrats, he’s not a “I’ll hold my nose and vote for the Democrat” candidate
- He is really good on issues that the Democratic base cares about — campaign finance, universal healthcare, climate change
- He is a Senator from one of the most rural states in America — Vermont — and he knows how to talk to rural voters and farmers
- He’s running against Trump, a wealthy-big city Republican — who can claim to care about the rust belt — but Trump is a man mostly disconnected from those voters
- He’s not a social issue driven candidate – he might be a socialist but he’s hardly out there on “grabbing your guns” or “gray rights”
