Schenectady County 📍

Schenectady County is a county located in the U.S. state of New York. As of the 2010 census, the population was 154,727. It is part of the Albany-Schenectady-Troy Metropolitan Statistical Area. The county seat is Schenectady. Schenectady County is located west of Albany on the Mohawk River, and contains both the river and uplands around it.

An obvious benefit – less Thruway signage needed, people will know when they are approaching their exit at least heading Westbound.

At least Schenectady is easier to spell than Skahnéhtati, the proper spelling.

I propose translating the city’s name to English for all official communications: “Beyond the Pines”, NY.

Another benefit to the renaming the city to it’s English name is it will make it easier for people to locate it on a map, especially those heading Westbound on the Thruway.
