September 8, 2015 update

Just another summer day, this September morning with temperatures climbing up to 76 as of 9 AM with weather rapidly heading up to 92 degrees.

The warm weather is not stopping the local schools from going back in session or the traffic from returning. I guess the traffic is little more than a minor annoyance, as I can play on my phone as the bus navigates the heavy city traffic. Cities are were the jobs are, and if I wasn’t decently well compensated for my time in Albany, I would be long gone from NY State.

Thursday is Primary Day. As I will probably one of three people who actually vote, I should probably think about voting. I don’t know much about the candidates although Dan McCoy keeps mailing me junk mail that doesn’t even burn particularly well. I have no idea on the local primaries and I don’t really care, because I feel like I barely even live in NY State anymore. That said, I do maintain an address in Delmar and I’d rather have my buff card reflect that I voted in the election, even if I ultimately just put a blank ballot in the SCAN-TRON machine.

August 13, 2015 morning

Partly cloudy and 68 degrees this morning. Later times of clouds and sun and 80. Should be a pleasant day before the heat starts creeping in for the second half of the weekend. Next week looks to be hazy, hot and humid like summer is supposed to be.

Depending on the weather, next week it’s back to the Finger Lakes again for more swimming. I will also bring the kayak for this trip and do some fishing. I would like to spend more time at the Watkins Glen pool in hot weather. But if the weather doesn’t look good for swimming then I will probably head up to Lewis County to explore the Otter Creek area. I’m also thinking of heading up to the White Rocks area of the Green Mountain National Forest near Manchester at some point.

But tommorow it’s off to White House and Wells. Almost too hot to go there but I think it will be fun to visit the town beach. I would go to Stewart Landing and Piseco Powley Road but I’ve been up there a lot and I’m planning on heading up there for Labor Day Weekend. I’ve never camped at Stewart Landing as I prefer to be farther back in the woods so I can shoot and not bother nobody.

July 24, 2015 morning

Good morning, Happy Friday. 64 degrees and sunny this morning. Looks like it’s going to be another hot one this weekend. Today also is expected to get quite muggy, look for 81 degrees and chance of thunderstorms later.

Tommorow by this time, hopefully I will be well on my way to the Finger Lakes. Looks like nice weather. I’m not going to rush and will stop along scenic vistas along the way.

Have a great day!

July 9, 2015 morning

Unsettled weather continues this morning and we are expecting up to an inch of rain before the day concludes. 78 degrees later.

The weekend forecast looks pretty good after we get through today.

June 22, 2015 update

Good morning on this Monday morning. Talk about an exceptionally nice summer day. Warm, blue skies prevail on this summer morning without the drop of humidity. It really is a shame to be going into work on such a beautiful day.

Still can’t believe I got a 35×12.5 spare tire mounted under my truck. It is riding fine with plenty of space around the exhaust system and the differential. The only thing I can think of is they mounted the replacement hitch farther back when they did the body work last summer. At any rate, it’s pretty sweet. It will be better balanced for off-roading and not take up space in the bed.

Finally looking forward to some dirt roads in the Adirondacks. If the forecast improves for the weekend I hope to get up there. Probably go to Piseco Powley Road although I could go out to Schoharie County or White House as an alternative.

If not the following week is Independence Day Weekend. This year I will probably go to Moose River Plains rather than the Independence River Wild Forest as in previous years.

Camped out last night at my parents house. Nice night but the weather was sticky until late. The morning was quite nice though. Buggy out though. I guess that’s to be expected in the summer.
