Good Morning – January 24, 2022

Good morning! Monday’s come back around again. πŸ˜€

What do I know, I mean I worked on both Saturday and Sunday. Got in 7 hours of work between those days, including spending most of Saturday afternoon working downtown. And I’m salaried, so that means only Comp Time. So what weekend? LOL!

Partly cloudy and 16 degrees on the earlier CDTA Route 18 heading downtown. β›… Calm wind. There are 4.5 inches of snow on the ground. β˜ƒ ️Things will start to thaw out at tomorrow around 1 pm. 🌑️

I don’t know, it doesn’t feel that cold. 🌞 That sunshine feels good this morning. I kept the heat turned down but I left the kitchen cabinets open, to be safe with it, and make it extra easy for the mice to get in them and trip over the open drawers. I’m just tired of paying for the extra heat to keep the pipes thawed, even though I’ve never had any problems.

I was up early as I needed to get in the office early to get yet another project finished up. πŸ“„ Another dress up day for work, but I’ve been doing it for so many years that almost all my dress clothes is comfortable, well fitting, easy to wash and get ready for work. Then it will be a big rush to get that stack of work done in the morning.

I am hoping to get to the store this evening and wash my truck. 🚿 I have enough groceries for now, but I am starting to run low and I want to get as much of the salt off my truck as possible before it sits for the rest of the week. I keep wanting to wash my truck, but it’s been tough, as it’s always salty this time of year. I was going to go last night, but it snowed in the evening after seeing the folks, and they applied more salt to the roads to clear them, and with the wet salt, it would have been sprayed everywhere before I got back from the store.

Circle of Steel

Listening to Gordon Lightfoot’s Circle of Steel as I head downtown on the bus to do some paperwork on this most gray of days.

I haven’t listened to Gordon Lightfoot in a long time.

The other day when it was pouring rain I hopped on the bus to pick my truck up from the oil change. Riding the bus is so strange these days with the pandemic smoldering in Albany County and raging all around us.

You ever so anonymously board from the back of the bus and leave from the same place entrance. You never really see the bus drivers face or even acknowledge their existence, you just get on and off, no fare required.

Its kind of a surreal experience, sitting on bus alone, trying to stay six feet away from anyone else, quietly sitting there, trying to avoid touching anything. The buses stink of cleaner and their are many signs to remind you to maintain 6 feet social distancing and leave the way you came – through the back door.
