October 29, 2017 Night
Good evening! Rain and 60 degrees in Delmar, NY. Slight breeze from the south-south east with occassional gusts of wind and bursts of rain The dew point is 59 degrees. The weather will get worse as the night proceeds but should improve by morning. I recommend doing what I will be doing shortly — retiring to bed early — and just letting the worse of rain and wind blow over. The skies will clear tomorrow around noontime.
Today wasn’t a bad day. Got some much needed rest and relaxation at home, did some cleaning and unpacking of camping gear. Kitchen is well stocked, should I not be able to get my truck in for an inspection this week. But I think I will be able to do that.

Right now, a split verdict on the weekend. Saturday, partly sunny, with a high near 52. Sunday, a chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 52. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Typical average high for the weekend is 53 degrees.
Had Sunday dinner with Mom and Dad, the first one since mom has gotten back home. It was a nice dinner. It’s tough to watch your parents age, getting old is not neccessarily a wonderful, graceful thing. But I enjoy every minute I still have with them.
Heading to bed shortly, as even though the severe weather hasn’t started yet, I want to be asleep before we risk losing power. Maybe it’s a good thing that the landlord cut down all the trees in the yard — I no longer have to worry about a tree falling on my apartment or my truck.
Back to work tomorrow. Yet another five day week. But hopefully it will be a productive one. I am covering for one of my colleagues tomorrow, so I expect a busy day.
