October 26, 2017 Evening
Good evening! Cloudy, damp but the rain has stopped and 50 degrees here in Albany. Breezy, 17 mph breeze from the northwest. Feels like a late autumn afternoon.
Walked down to the Peter Kiernan bus stop then caught the express from there. Traffic is light, the bus is running pretty close to on time. Some minor delays on 787 as we get onto US 9W.
The sun will set shortly at 5:55 pm with dusk around 6:23 pm, which is one minute and 25 seconds earlier than yesterday.
Tonight has rain likely, mainly before 9pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low of 43 degrees at 12am. Five degrees above normal. Northwest wind 8 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Right now, a split verdict on the weekend. Saturday, sunny, with a high near 68. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 9 mph in the morning. Maximum dew point of 49 at 7pm. Sunday, rain. The rain could be heavy at times. High near 63. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Maximum dew point of 57 at 1pm. Typical average high for the weekend is 55 degrees.
On Saturday, I am helping out at the Save the Pine Bush booth at the renewable energy fair, and will go shopping. I want to wash my truck too and pick up supplies as I won’t be driving much going forward until I get it inspected. Sunday I will go out to my parents house for Sunday dinner.
Still fascinated by the farm toys store downtown. Every time I walk past it I’m interested and half to look in. I don’t know why but it’s just such an odd store downtown. Agriculture in general is a fascinating industry. It’s interesting how natural resources are managed to serve human needs.
Started to go through the last batch of photos and videos from the road trip. I will be posting a lot more from the Blue Ridge Parkway over the next few days into the weekend. Then I probably should move on to other content.
In four weeks on Thanksgiving, November 23 the sun will be setting at 4:25 pm (Standard Time), which is one hour, 29 minutes and 10 seconds earlier then today. In 2016 on that day, we had mostly cloudy skies and temperatures between 37 and 27 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 45 and 30 degrees. The record high of 72 degrees was set back in 1931.
Looking ahead, Thanksgiving is in 4 weeks.
