October 29, 2016 10 PM Update
Good evening! Cloudy and 53 degrees in North Syracuse. There is a west breeze at 11 mph. The dew point is 52 degrees. The skies will clear Monday around 11 am.
Finally got the hard drive enclosure and my hard drive from my dead laptop up and running, so I have my files back. That makes me happy. I had a fear I could have lost many or most of them when the power supply blew out on the laptop. Saw a nice ThinkPad at Office Max that I’m researching as a replacement laptop. I saw an alternative model from Staples with an SSD drive and a high resolution 1920×1080 built in touch screen. that would be perfect for map making. At $620, a little more than budgeted for but I wouldn’t have to upgrade the Hard Drive to SSD right away as it comes with it. I got to research the reviews and Linux compatibility further before I make the jump. Maybe next week though as it would be a great tool for map making.

In four weeks on November 26 the sun will be setting at 4:32 pm (Standard Time), which is 1 hour and 26 minutes earlier then tonight. That is Black Friday aka Buy Nothing Day. The average high is 44 degrees, and the record for that date is 67 degrees was set back in 1979.
