May 4, 2016 9 AM Update

As we head into the 9 o’clock hour we are at 52 degrees with drizzle coming down. Kind of a dark and depressing day.

What if you knew her and found her dead on the ground? Forty six years ago today was the Kent State Shootings. A divisive moment in American history, Kent State would not publicly acknowledge the murder of four college students by National Guardsmen for nearly three decades after the shootings. The college washed the blood off the asphalt but did not put up a plaque or marker acknowledging the incident until the 1990s, long after the local political leaders at the time were long dead.

I am working on putting together a blog renovation, which is part of the reason I haven’t posted any new maps for a while now. The roll out is mostly ready to be implemented but I have a little more code to implement and test. I have a lot of data ready to map and will hopefully start uploading new maps either later in the week or next weekend.

Through the weekend we look to be stuck in this cold and rainy pattern with clouds prevailing through Sunday. The best chance for lots of sun is next Monday and particularly nice weather next Tuesday with a high around 72.
