August 12, 2015 morning

70 degrees and mostly cloudy this morning. Looking for 77 degrees and fairly humid today. Thunderstorms this afternoon.

Tonight is the candidates night at the Save the Pine Bush Dinner with the various candidates running for Albany County Executive. The dinner is at 6 PM and the speakers are at 7 PM tonight. I haven’t honestly paid much attention to local races but I guess primary day is rapidly approaching so I should learn more. I probably will miss much of the speakers as I’ll be washing dishes.

I am hopeful that Dan McCoy can find a way to preserve and clean up 40 Karner Road, my pet parcel in the Albany Pine Bush. I like how he is a moderate voice with an increasingly liberal county legislature. On the other hand, I’m not crazy about him soliciting campaign contributions from county employees. Ultimately it doesn’t really matter much, as I probably will be leaving NY State in the next few years and I don’t spend much time in Albany County except for work.
