Quieter Monday, Making Progress

So I scheduled the first oil change for the SuperDuty on Wednesday, dropping it off before work. Should I have done it before 3,000 miles to get any metals out of the oil? Probably but life goes on and I figured an earlier oil change won’t hurt even if I didn’t do one right after break in. Next oil change will be closer to 10k when I have the full recommended service done. Having the dealer do just so everything is documented. It’s actually pretty super easy to do on SuperDuty based on the filter and drain plug location.

Then the following Wednesday bright and early at 8 AM, having my yearly physical done. Right after a work dinner I am attending the previous night at steak house, so might gut will be full and scales tipping downwards, probably a bit hung over. But if the weather is fine, I’ll ride my bike to the doctor and be up to date, so I am an active patient with access to a regular doctor should any needs arise. Maybe I shouldn’t have scheduled for that day, but whatever. A little alcohol in my piss ain’t going to me fail the doctor’s test.

Starting to research oil undercoatings for my truck. Lots of different options but I am pretty sure going to go with the lamolin spray – Woolwax or Fluid Film. Going to get the truck professionally sprayed in next few weeks, somewhere I can drop the truck off, ride my bike or bus to work. While lamolin wears off over time, it also doesn’t trap water in or encourage rust. Smelly and kind of nasty for mechanics to work in but it beats rust. I’ll buy some rattle cans in future years to touch it up, and if I smell like a farm, well, you know my thoughts on that smell.

Weekend still looks good. I am the only supervisor in the office on Friday, but I think I will remote work from Dolgeville. Drive up north Thursday, set up camp, overnight, then work from Dolgeville. The library is open 11 AM to 5 PM so if I need to plug in or piss, but I can also work from the SuperDuty as there is on-street parking and they got wi-fi. And a nice patio to sit out and work on. If I have to I can go to Little Falls but I think Dolgeville has everything I need.
