Heading back ut in the SuperDuty

Packing some stuff to head out of town for the weekend. Nothing too crazy, just a two night trip and Sunday might turn to rain, but I figure get away while the weather is nice, get produce and swim at Mine Kill tomorrow, and hopefully Sunday won’t be too wet.

Maybe the responsible thing would be to stay in town this weekend, ⛰️ but I want to travel, get out and enjoy summer before it’s done. While there are few other weekends left in summer, who knows If they’ll be good or turn to rain. 🌧️

Last night I went to the happy hour 🍻, limited myself to one beer but hung out for a few hours and then rode my mountain bike down to the park to work on a few other things. I didn’t do any packing last night, though I did wash up some dishes. This morning I packed my bags and water containers, but I only need limited things for two nights in the wilderness. 🌲

Need to run to Tractor Supply for Propane this morning, 🏮 along with Wally World for sunscreen 🧴, lantern mantles, 💡 more olive oil, 🫒 and maybe some oatmeal 🥣. Goal is to be at the office before 9 AM so I”m hoping to leave around 7:45 AM this morning to get my errands done. ⛽ I’ll get fuel in Duanesburg this afternoon. I could leave for Schoharie tomorrow morning, but this is an excuse to drive into the office today, and get too nights in wilderness. Swim and hike at Mine Kill tomorrow, and just hang out do some reading.  📚 🏊‍♂️ Hoping Sunday morning won’t be a complete wash out.

Then maybe next Friday I will take off to go up to the Potholers and House Pond Campsite 🏕️ to swim and float one last time this year. Then it’s just work, work, work, remote and otherwise through November. I have a big training manual to re-write today, 📚 and giving a presentation 📺 next week. Meetings also on next Thursday, after which I would head north most likely if the weather is decent. ☀️ Then there is one other weekend left before Labor Day but who knows if the weather will cooperate or hopefully I’ll be selling Big Red.
