Can I loose 13 more pounds? 🫃

I finally figured out how to log into my online health records and confirmed my official weight is 209 lbs and height of 6′ 2.5″ inches which gives me a BMI of 26.5 which is overweight but not by much.

According to the formula, if I can loose 13 more pounds and get my weight down to 196 lb then I will have a BMI of 24.9 which the CDC considers to be a healthy weight. It seems like a fun challenge, though one not guaranteed. They regularly warn it can be harder to loose additional weight due to building of muscle and reduced calorie burn as the body tries to compensate for reduced fat stores.

The truth is though it’s worth it. Not only do I feel great, I have a healthy blood pressure and breathing. My mental health is much better, I’m extending my life. I feel full and with lots of energy. The hardest thing is the social side of things, but I’m hoping with the legislative session basically done with the season of receptions and events, plus I’m getting better at navigating healthier options when I do go. Yet, I still see that as the biggest challenge.
