Daily Update – April 2, 2022

Good morning! Happy Saturday. Made it to the first weekend of April. 🌷

Cold start to the morning with that wind. I thought about heading out of town this weekend but with the wind, high water levels, mud and bright sun I decided against it.

Mostly cloudy, around the freezing point in Delmar, NY. ☁️ More sun expected later. There is a northwest breeze at 13 mph. 🍃. The current wind chill is 20.

Wow! Definitely a cold start to the morning. 🌅 The wind is howling, 🌬️I can hear it roaring against the building and just how cold it is. My heat is off but the coffee ☕ helped me warm up when I got up at six 6⃣.

I thought about an early morning walk 🚶 to Five Rivers Environmental Education Center 🐸 but I think I’ll wait until later. I’d rather go early in the day or late in the evening. Much more wildlife to see and not the gangs of small children 🧒. I just like listening to the Red Wing Blackbirds 🐦 and Spring Peepers 🐸.

Last night I finished watching a two hour documentary about pig 🐽 farming on Justin Rhodes homestead. I can just remember the earthy smell of the neighbors pigs. They are a good part of a diverse and healthy homestead, they bring a lot of fertility to the ground and till it up. Pork 🥩 and bacon 🥓 are so good.

I decided next weekend I’ll either go to the transfer station ♻ or camping 🏕 depending on the weather. If not next weekend, I’ll go camping the following weekend which is Good Friday slash Easter. 🐰 I’d like to get away for a few days and hopefully warm and nice enough to lay back in the hammock for a while.
