Volt Amperes

I think too much about the apparent power and volt amperes, always measuring it when I buy something, even though currently power companies don’t bill you for that with residential split phase power.

I think my obsession with apparent power and reactance more generally has to do with being a C student in pre-calculus and the endless hours my 11th and 12th grade math teacher would talk about imaginary numbers and negative square roots.
