April 29, 2020 Morning

Good morning! What day is it? Hump Day, of course. Partly cloudy and 57 degrees in Delmar, NY. There is a south-southeast breeze at 9 mph. πŸƒ. But it ain’t expected to last.

I went for a walk this morning before work 🚢 and it was definitely a nice spring day. I’m going to work outside for a few hours and then maybe go down to the library for a few hours to work down there. πŸ“š Probably won’t be sunny by then but if my laptop is charged I won’t need the battery so much.

I am pretty sure I have Lyme disease from the tick bite I got on Saturday 🐜 but didn’t discover until last night. I’m achy and sore in my knees and feel just as shitty as I did five months ago before I took my doxycyline. πŸ’Š I am just waiting for a bulls eye rash to appear 🎯so I can do that telemedicine crap πŸ“ž and get the magic antibiotics and feel better at least for a while. At least I won’t have to sit in the lobby or the doctors office all morning before getting run through the cattle shoot for a thirty second visit with the doctor 😷. If you’ve ever watched how they vaccinate cattle herds on ranches, you’ll understand the doctors office experience in normal times.

I don’t know how I ducking 🐦 got a tick bite the same place as in October – my arm pit. πŸ™‹ Dang it. I wish I found that tick on Saturday pulled it with the key πŸ”‘. I should have checked but I was tired that night after getting up at five am to observe wildlife at Black Creek Marsh Wildlife Management Area. All day I was wearing a long sleeve shirt πŸ‘š so I just don’t understand. Crawled into my arm pit. Duck.

Today will be partly sunny 🌞, with a high of 65 degrees at 3pm. One degree above normal, which is similar to a typical day around May 1st. South wind 9 to 15 mph. A year ago, we had partly cloudy skies in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 58 degrees. The record high of 88 was set in 1888. 1 inches of snow fell back in 1885.❄

Solar noon 🌞 is at 12:53 pm with sun having an altitude of 62Β° from the due south horizon (-8.8Β° vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 3.2 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour πŸ… starts at 7:15 pm with the sun in the west-northwest (285Β°). πŸ“Έ The sunset is in the west-northwest (291Β°) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 7:54 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 6 seconds with dusk around 8:24 pm, which is one minute and 7 seconds later than yesterday. πŸŒ‡ At dusk you’ll see the First Quarter πŸŒ“ Moon in the southwest (236Β°) at an altitude of 60Β° from the horizon, 233,537 miles away. πŸš€ The best time to look at the stars is after 9:02 pm. At sunset, look for rain 🌧 and temperatures around 62 degrees. Breezy, 16 mph breeze β›… from the south-southeast with gusts up to 28mph. Today will have 14 hours and 2 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 31 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be scattered showers, mainly after 1am. Cloudy 🌧, with a low of 47 degrees at 5am. Five degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around May 15th. South wind 14 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. In 2019, we had partly cloudy skies in the evening, which became cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 38 degrees. The record low of 25 occurred back in 1874.

I’m looking forward to the heavy rain come Thursday and Friday. πŸ’¦ I’m fine with cloudy days as long as they produce something worthwhile. It was pretty bone dry out at Partridge Run this weekend when I got my tick bite and with the somewhat tardy spring 🌷 I was pretty worried about having a fire out at Rennselearville State Forest and burning down the woods.

I’ve been working on figuring out the issue with my blog sometimes not uploading things properly. πŸ“€I think I found the bug 🐞 and will patch it and upload a new series of Coronavirus maps this afternoon. 🌐 I wish I was a better coder and had fewer bugs in my code.

I really should this afternoon research and make up my mind about what I want for a picnic table tent πŸŽͺ. I have a feeling it will make black fly season and summer vacation so much nicer having shelter outside of my truck cap especially on hot and buggy days. Yes, I can sit in my truck cap next to the fan but it’s kind of tight to spend all day there. I hate using tons of DEET and Picardin when just hanging out at camp. 🐜 There not that expensive and I’ve been saving to buy one since December.

Right now, a split verdict on the weekend. πŸ˜• Saturday, a chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 63. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Maximum dew point of 49 at 6am. Sunday, partly sunny, with a high near 69. Maximum dew point of 46 at 5pm. Typical average high for the weekend is 65 degrees.

I’d still like to get up north this weekend but I don’t see how that happens with the forecast. β›Ί It’s not going to be cold but I don’t see the clouds and rain showed pulling out until Saturday midday. Maybe I wait another week. I do want to hike that trail that’s been on my bucket list πŸ“ƒ since the winter but on a few more weeks things will be a lot more green. 🌿

Looking ahead, there are 8 weeks until Latest Sunset πŸŒ† when the sun will be setting at 8:37 pm with dusk at 9:12 pm. On that day in 2019, we had partly cloudy and temperatures between 85 and 56 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 80 degrees. We hit a record high of 96 back in 1943.
