November 3, 2019 Afternoon
Definitely very November like up here on Bennett Hill. Cloudy and 49 degrees at the Bennett Hill Preserve. โ There is a west breeze at 13 mph. ๐. The breeze is cold and the air has the taste of cow ๐ฎ and wood smoke on it๐ญ.
The colors of October ๐ have all but faded away for the browns of November. The woods isn’t colorless and indeed the cover crops in the fields below are quite green. Kind of gray at this point in the afternoon.
The clouds and the wind ๐ make for a rather chilly afternoon sure. I wanted to sit up top for a while and observe the area but it’s much too cold. I bet if I go camping next weekend it will be cold โบ but at least I’ll have a fire and can hot tent as I have a full tank of propane, got it filled earlier today.
I tell myself that I really like November. ๐ But it really is cold and the days are short and often gray. But the nights are fun in the wilderness when it’s still accessible and not blocked by deep snow. โ
