September 7, 2019 Afternoon

Good afternoon! Mostly sunny and 66 degrees in Delmar, NY. There is a northwest breeze at 8 mph. πŸƒ. The dew point is 46 degrees. A pretty nice day, although I decided to stay in town this weekend. Instead, I spent my morning doing trail work at the Holt Preserve in Feura Bush and other things that needed to get done.

I’ve been trying to do more volunteer work these days 🌲🌳and be more involved with my community. I like doing trail work, it’s much different from what I do weekdays at work. I still also remain quiet involved with Save the Pine Bush, especially coordinating an leading the hikes, 🚢 research πŸ“‚ and helping out with the dinners. 🍜

Also got a lot of other things done that were necessary ❎ …. I got my hair cut πŸ’ˆso I’ll look nice for the work presentation I’m doing this week in New York, took the paper recyclables β™» to the paper πŸ“„ dumpster at the Park and River. The paper garbage can was getting a little full at home and I don’t like to burn that much paper at camp as it’s kind of hard to burn πŸ”₯. Paper doesn’t burn as easy as you would think, especially the glossy papers.

This afternoon will be mostly sunny 🌞, with a high of 71 degrees at 3pm. Five degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around September 18th. Maximum dew point of 53 at 6pm. Northwest wind around 8 mph. A year ago, we had partly cloudy skies in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 77 degrees. The record high of 96 was set in 1945.

After the trail work day πŸ‘· at Holt Preserve I collapsed in bed. 😴 I was exhausted. I slept awful last night because I had a cup of strong coffee β˜•a my coffee often is after work to have enough energy to do my evening walk. While I fell asleep early, I didn’t sleep well with some pretty crazy nightmares. πŸ’

Later this afternoon I’m going to go and walk out to Five Rivers Environmental Education Center 🐸. I always like the walk 🚢 out there and it’s nice to have the bathrooms 🚽 out there to take a piss when I get there. Worse part of hiking in the city. I like being able to pee wherever I want in the wilderness.

The sun will set at 7:19 pm with dusk around 7:47 pm, which is one minute and 45 seconds earlier than yesterday. πŸŒ‡ At sunset, look for partly clear skies πŸŒ„ and temperatures around 65 degrees. The dew point will be 54 degrees. There will be a west-northwest breeze at 7 mph. Today will have 12 hours and 51 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 48 seconds over yesterday.

I can’t dilly daly too long a Five Rivers 🌲🌳as the sun is setting increasingly early. πŸŒ‡ I plan to go shopping later this evening. πŸ—πŸ²πŸœπŸ Definitely kind of low on food but I have $3 off coupon at ShopRite.

Tonight will be partly cloudy 🌀, with a low of 54 degrees at 4am. One degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around September 9th. Maximum dew point of 54 at 7pm. West wind around 6 mph. In 2018, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 52 degrees. The record low of 34 occurred back in 1978.

As previously noted, there are 2 weeks until Average High 70 πŸŽ‘ when the sun will be setting at 6:54 pm with dusk at 7:22 pm. On that day in 2018, we had mostly cloudy, rain showers and temperatures between 71 and 65 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 70 degrees. We hit a record high of 95 back in 1895.
